Why Lamima works for Raja Ampat

Lamima is a 65.2-metre two-masted phinisi designed by Marcelo Penna of Barcelona and hand-built in Sulawesi from ironwood and teak by master boat builders Haji Baso and Haji Saka. She is the only phinisi ever built to RINA (Registro Italiana Naval) international class — Southeast Asia's only luxury phinisi certified to that safety and stability standard. Seven ensuite cabins sleep up to 14 guests: one master suite with king bed, ensuite and dressing room, four VIP double cabins with king beds, and two twin cabins with two American-size singles (110 × 204 cm). The main deck holds a spacious saloon with bar, lounge and dining table for 14, plus expansive alfresco decks for dining and lounging. A wellness deck adds yoga space, ice bath, meditation, a full fitness set (spinning bike, boxing bag, TRX, dumbbells, skipping rope, pull-up bar) and two Balinese therapists. The onboard PADI dive centre carries a Bauer nitrox compressor, full kit for 14 guests and two PADI instructors — unlimited air or nitrox diving is included in the charter fee.

  • 65.2 m — one of the world's largest wooden sailing yachts, and the only RINA-classed phinisi
  • 7 ensuite cabins for up to 14 guests: 1 master, 4 VIP doubles, 2 twins
  • Crew of 20 including 2 PADI dive instructors, 2 gourmet chefs, 2 Balinese therapists and a dedicated guide

FAQ

Lamima — frequently asked questions

When can I charter Lamima in Raja Ampat?+

Lamima's Raja Ampat / Triton Bay / Spice Islands season runs November through May, when the region has its calmest seas and best diving visibility. From June to October she cruises Komodo, Flores and Sumbawa based out of Labuan Bajo. Repositioning between the two regions mid-season is possible subject to availability, sometimes with a relocation fee.

How much does Lamima cost per night?+

For charters starting from 1 December 2025 through 30 November 2026, the base rate is USD 27,000 per night. All prices are subject to 11% Indonesian government tax on top of the base rate. Lamima is only chartered as a whole-yacht private charter — individual cabin bookings are not offered.

What is actually included in Lamima's charter rate?+

Lamima offers the only truly all-inclusive rate in the industry: all gourmet meals and snacks, unlimited crafted cocktails and local beers, 7 bottles of selected wine per night per group, barista service, fresh juices and soft drinks, unlimited air or nitrox diving with two PADI instructors, full dive kit for 14 guests, all shore excursions and National Park fees, massages and beauty treatments with two Balinese therapists, yoga sessions, wellness retreat (ice bath, meditation), Starlink Wi-Fi, return airport transfers and personal laundry.

What is not included?+

The 11% government tax, fine liquors and premium spirits, champagnes and rare wines from the reserve list, PADI Open Water or Advanced Open Water certification courses (USD 800 per person, minimum one week onboard), and discretionary crew gratuities. Personal travel and dive insurance is the guest's responsibility.

Is diving really unlimited?+

Yes. Air and nitrox diving are unlimited during your charter and included in the rate. Two PADI-certified instructors, a Bauer nitrox compressor, full kit for 14 divers, three tenders and dive briefings tailored to your level all come as standard. Dive insurance is strongly recommended — a short liability waiver is required if you don't have it.

I've never dived before — can I learn onboard?+

Yes. Lamima is a PADI-registered dive centre. Non-certified guests can join relaxed one-on-one Discovery Dives with Ali or Martinus. If you want to certify, PADI Open Water or Advanced Open Water certification is available for USD 800 per person, needs about one week onboard, and includes all instruction and materials.

Is Lamima family-friendly?+

Yes — Lamima is one of the best yachts in Indonesia for multi-generational family charters. The crew are natural caregivers, activities scale from paddleboarding and snorkelling to quiet beach picnics, and a baby cot and baby life jackets are available. You can also bring your own nanny, who is accommodated in one of the seven guest cabins.

Which airports do we fly into to meet Lamima?+

For Raja Ampat, fly into Sorong (SOQ) — direct from Jakarta is the smoothest route; there are also twice-weekly direct flights from Bali (or via Makassar). For Komodo, fly into Labuan Bajo (LBJ), direct from Bali or Jakarta. In both cases the transfer to the harbour is around 10 minutes, then a private RIB tender to the yacht. Ali and Martinus meet every guest on arrival.

Is there Wi-Fi and mobile signal onboard?+

Yes — unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the yacht via Starlink maritime satellite internet, so you stay connected even in the remotest bays of Raja Ampat. Every cabin has a Smart TV with a Lamima Netflix subscription, and Bluetooth speakers indoors and out let you play your own music.
