Which season a 2027 date belongs to
This is the first thing to settle, because it determines which rate card applies, how far ahead the yacht is taking bookings, and whether the vessel is even in Papua.

Rates in this fleet are quoted per yacht per night, never per cabin. What differs is whether tax is inside or outside the number — which changes the real figure by up to twelve per cent.

Two things follow. First, always ask whether a quoted figure is net or gross — Silolona's USD 18,700 becomes USD 20,944 once 12 per cent VAT is added, and that difference over ten nights is more than USD 22,000. Second, a rate carrying a year label is a rate that will be reissued: where a yacht's terms name a 2026 figure, a 2027 figure follows in the owner's normal cycle, and we confirm it before contract rather than quoting an assumed increase.
How long a 2027 charter has to be
Minimum-night rules are published per yacht and per route, and they do not relax for a booking made far ahead. They are the reason a season holds fewer slots than the calendar suggests.

A 10 per cent holiday surcharge on the median yacht in this fleet adds roughly USD 1,079 per night. Over a seven-night minimum that is about USD 7,553 on top of the base charter — worth knowing before you settle on a date rather than after.
Working backwards from a 2027 departure
Written email confirmation binds the charter; a phone or WhatsApp hold lapses after 48 hours. A 40–50% deposit follows within seven days of the invoice.
Balance falls due. This is also the cancellation cliff: after it, the published terms retain 100% of the charter fee.
Passenger forms, passports, dive certification and dive insurance are due. Special wine, spirit and dietary orders close at the same point.

2027 charter questions
Does a 2027 Raja Ampat charter mean the 2026/27 or the 2027/28 season?+
Both, depending on the month. Raja Ampat's charter season runs October to April, so it straddles the calendar year. January to April 2027 falls at the end of the 2026/27 season; October to December 2027 opens the 2027/28 season. May to September 2027 is the south-east monsoon, when most of the fleet is working Komodo waters instead.
Are 2027 charter rates published yet?+
Some are, and the fleet is explicit about the year each rate belongs to — 5 yachts date their published figure. Where a 2027 rate has not been issued, we quote the current owner rate as the working basis and confirm the final figure with the owner before contract, rather than guessing at an increase.
Can a rate move between quote and departure?+
Under the published terms, yes, but only for specific causes. Several yachts state that rates may be adjusted for extreme fuel price movements or changes to government fees. That is not a general escalation clause — it is a narrow protection against external shocks, and it has to be notified rather than applied silently.
What tax applies on top of the nightly rate in 2027?+
It varies by vessel and by how the rate is quoted. Some yachts publish a rate that already includes taxes and then apply 11 per cent Indonesian tax to on-board purchases only. Others quote a net rate plus 10, 11 or 12 per cent government tax or VAT. Silolona publishes both figures — USD 18,700 per night plus 12 per cent VAT, or USD 20,944 all-in — which is the clearest way to read it.
What is the minimum charter over Christmas and New Year 2027?+
Seven nights on the yachts that publish a Raja Ampat holiday rule, applying to charters between 18 December and 4 January, along with a 10 per cent surcharge on the nightly rate. Dunia Baru sets twelve nights over Christmas and New Year's Eve, and seven nights over Easter and Idul Fitri. Those minimums, not the rate, are what make the holiday window scarce.
How far in advance should a 2027 charter be paid?+
The structure is the same regardless of how far out you book: a 40 to 50 per cent deposit within seven days of the invoice, and the balance sixty days before departure. For a January 2027 departure that puts the balance date in early November 2026; for a Christmas 2027 departure, in late October 2027.
